Harbor Mill Candle Company, LLC is a woman and family-owned business. “As a single, work-at-home parent raising two handsome boys aged 8 and 19, it was important early in my career not to depend solely on one source of income,” says Jameel. “I instill values in my boys, teaching them about the rewarding benefits of hard work. They get to see it up close, every day.”  For many years, Jameel balanced her part-time candle making business with the demands of Corporate America and parenting. “For 21 years, I juggled working 9 to 5 as a marketing analyst with a busy candle business, and parenting,” she says. “Over the years I faced many obstacles where candle making became my therapy and ultimately, my passion.” Over time, her offerings have changed to reflect her values and keen sense of emerging client needs. At first, Jameel made paraffin and gel candles, but after the birth of her first child she began researching natural wax alternatives. She wanted to provide a product that not only smelled great, but was also environmentally sound. Today, all candles are hand poured and made with the highest quality  of ethically sourced ingredients. Jameel is also beginning to formulate candles with the healing properties of CBD or cannabidiol.
